Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its result. Lea County Court Docket does not retain or log the search terms entered through its pages.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email message may be retained so that a response can be made. It is kept within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers may receive routine technical information about the visit, including:
- The device’s assigned IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Page-view timestamps
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device that help measure use of the resource, such as pages receiving traffic and points where visits end. Analytics services aggregate that traffic information. Browser settings can block cookies, although some site functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, securing, and improving site performance
- Routing a search request to the applicable partner service
- Assessing which resources are used and which need improvement
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Serving advertising that may be relevant to visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
This private resource does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Lea County dockets or personal case-record information. It provides general routing information for the Lea County District Court clerk, magistrate and municipal courts, and New Mexico’s statewide case-search systems. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or dossiers about third parties.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes on these pages. Information entered there is handled under that provider’s privacy policy rather than this policy. The provider controls its own retention and sharing practices, so review its terms before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to clerk pages, court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal-aid resources, and third-party tools. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the outside site’s privacy policy governs that visit. Review it before giving that site personal information.
Some advertising partners may track activity across websites for targeted advertising. That activity occurs within their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information can be disclosed to the following limited categories when applicable:
- Search partners processing a query submitted through a tool
- Analytics services used for traffic and performance measurement
- Advertising networks placing advertisements on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal obligation
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, and no assurance can be made that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor’s information was submitted, contact us so it can be removed promptly.
Your Data Rights
New Mexico’s Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA) court-request route and Rule 1-079 NMRA govern access to public court records; they do not turn this private reference resource into a court custodian. Depending on where a visitor lives, privacy or consumer-protection law may provide additional rights over personal data. At a minimum, a visitor may:
- Request a copy of personal information held about the visitor
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request deletion of personal information
- Opt out of certain processing where applicable
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised in the future. A revised version will appear here with a new effective date. Review this page periodically for changes in these practices.
